Service Tip of the Month!
BMW vehicles have a time or mileage service interval (based of fuel consumption) for oil services.
BMW recommends that vehicles have an oil service at least once a year or when vehicle indicator lamp comes on.
If you are unsure of when your oil service is due , turn your vehicle ignition on & look at the service reminder that apears on the instrument cluster when the vehicle is first started.
The counter will show the milage left until service due ,but remember the service counter counts backwards from approx 15,000 miles to 0. Even if indicator does not come on the vehicle still will need an annual oil service as recomended by BMW.
Also it is normal for the vehicle to use some oil in between services , BMW states the vehicle may use 1qrt of oil every 3,000 miles on M cars about 1qrt every 1000-1500 miles. If you need a top off please stop in for us to check the vehicle oil level for you at no charge.
If you are unable to stop in the recomended oil is 5W-30 synthetic Castrol is recommended and most M cars take 10W-60 which is available only at BMW centers .
